January 7, 2021 by TAU Roundtable

Podcast: Play in new window | Download

This is our NFL Playoffs preview episode! Last year we got more feedback on our playoffs predictions than any other episodes. Michael, Tim, Allen, and Nicholas get together to preview the new and expanded 2021 NFL Playoffs. There are hot-takes, Cowboy’s jokes, men’s movie recommendations and picks for all the games this weekend including the College Football Championship.

Note: We use betting language to discuss which team will win games, but we in no way endorse actual gambling on sports games.

Unforgiving Attack Dogs

The National Football League recently decided to honor former quarterback Mike Vick by making him an honorary captain in the league’s annual Pro Bowl. Vick was undoubtedly one of the most electrifying players the NFL has ever seen. His speed, elusiveness, and arm caused a lot of problems for opposing teams. Vick, on the other […]

5 Reflections from 10 Years of Daily Bible Reading

In May of 2008 I was inconsistent with my Bible reading at best. I’ve already recounted some of that story in a previous post, but suffice to say that I was too proud and too lazy to read the Bible every day. One day I challenged myself to see how many days in a row […]

Looking Back: Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster, part 1

Perhaps you’ve never heard of the term “spiritual formation,” let alone Richard Foster or his foundational work, Celebration of Discipline: The Path to Spiritual Growth. The writings of two authors, Richard Foster and Dallas Willard, are the primary drivers of the movement. Searching the Internet for “spiritual formation” is prone to cause more confusion than understanding. Many resources […]

Book Review — Passionate About The Passion Week (Part 2: The Odd)

If you have not read Part 1 of this review concerning The Good, please do so first. While there is much to be praised about this work historically, there are some oddities in some sections. This isn’t necessarily negative per se, although it may seem that way. For the most part, the oddities come down […]

Penal Substitutionary Atonement: The Very Thing We Need to Overcome Racial and Socialist Agendas

All sound theology flows from a proper and biblical understanding of the atonement of Christ. Juxtaposed to this, every heresy or agenda in some way will distort or redefine the cross. Knowing the biblical reason(s) for why Christ died is critical, essential, and foundational to immunizing ourselves from the heretical diseases that seem to abound […]
