Blessed!

by | Nov 24, 2018 | pSaturday Psalms

In Psalm 32, David recounts the joy he experiences knowing that God has forgiven his sin.

Psalms 32:1-2 ESV A Maskil of David. 1Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

Dear saint, today your sin is forgiven! God in Heaven is not counting your sins against you, but instead looks upon you as if you have lived the life of Christ. Be blessed! Be happy! Be joyful! This salvation cannot be taken away. Do not despair today, even amidst affliction, but rest in the forgiveness of Christ.

Maybe today you are grieving the loss of a loved one. You may be suffering unimaginable physical pain. Tensions with work or family abound. Is divorce tearing your family apart? Maybe you are even mourning your own sin? Whatever the situation, if you are a child of God, a born again believer in Jesus Christ, at this moment the Lord is not counting your iniquity against you.

Right now, your sin is covered; your transgressions have been forgiven.

Your BIGGEST problem in life has been solved — God’s righteous wrath toward you has been fully satisfied. Let that fact be the lens through which you view the rest of life’s experience. And be blessed today. Rejoice!

Psalm 96:10-13 God Will Judge!

Do you know that feeling when you start to tell someone about the Lord and you realize they do not already know Him? Do you get a pit in your stomach sometimes—a warning not to go there? Our natural response to difficulty is sometimes “flight.” Telling your neighbor that God will not only judge him or her but that God is right to do so can be frightening! It is no wonder we fail so many times in our evangelism—it is truly counter to our flesh’s desires for comfort!

Psalm 96:10 Jesus Reigns!

Jesus Reigns! Psalm 96 is like a lot of passages of the Bible—this chapter isn't simply written about a single topic. Psalm 96 references our need to sing to the Lord Jesus Christ (Psalm 96:1-2), evangelize the nations (Psalm 96:2-3), fear the Lord (Psalm 96:4),...

Psalm 96:6-9 The Beauty of Christ

Splendor and Majesty The word splendor conjures the idea of beauty and of grandeur. Our God isn't only comely; He is altogether lovely (Song of Solomon 5:16). In his Treasury of David, Spurgeon wrote regarding the honour and majesty of Yahweh: Men can but mimic these...
