The Bad News

Dear friend – You were directed to this page because someone cares about your eternal soul. For the good new listed below, you must first understand the bad news. Please read the entire page!

The bad news is that every one of us has inherited a sin nature which puts us in opposition to God’s law and thus, God Himself. Where you will spend eternity will be decided in this life. After you die, you will stand before the holy God of all creation to give an account (Hebrews 9:27). Since God is a perfect judge, no sin will go unpunished.

Every time you’ve lied, stolen, used God’s name in vain, committed or supported sexual immorality, or even hated someone (the heart attitude Jesus equates to murder), you have broken God’s law! We all do that. No one is righteous. The punishment for sinners is eternity in a lake of fire. God’s eternal punishment for sinners sounds harsh, but in reality, it’s the only righteous justice because our sins are against an infinite being, God Himself!

The Good News

But God, in perfect love, sent His only Son Jesus into the world to save sinners (1 John 4:14). To satisfy God’s wrath toward sinners, God crushed His Son on a cross (Isaiah 53:6). Jesus Christ lived a perfect life of obedience, took on the punishment sinners deserve, was buried, then rose from the grave victorious 3 days later! In exchange for the wrath deserved, sinners can be seen as righteous by putting their faith in Jesus and what He has done for them (2 Corinthians 5:21, Mark 1:15).

This is a display of God’s grace and mercy toward sinners. Although we’ve sinned, God offers forgiveness of sins through His Son’s death.

Your Response

Friend, call on the name of the Lord today — and be saved (Romans 10:13). Trust that the only righteousness you have before God is that righteousness which is found in another person, Jesus Christ, true God and true man.
