God’s Hatred of Sin and the Coming Judgment

Since God is unchangeably holy, His hatred of sin has not changed. God will always have an intense hatred for sin. One day, Christ will return to judge the nations, and those who have not bowed the knee to the Lord of hosts will suffer His great wrath. Revelation 14:19–20 says, So the angel swung … Read more

9 Reasons to Depart from Iniquity

Today’s post has my name on it, but I didn’t write it. Rather, we turn to our friend John Bunyan to consider his exhortations on why believers ought to depart from iniquity. This comes from Bunyan’s work, A Holy Life, The Beauty of Christianity. Here are Bunyan’s words on why Christians must depart from iniquity:  … Read more

The Aim of Shame

I don’t buy the argument that says Americans are worse today than we were 50 years ago, 100 years ago, or even 240 years ago. Some may be baffled at such a statement given present cultural controversies over marriage and abortion, and the general disdain we seem to have as a society for the things … Read more

It was a breath of fresh air which humbled me before my God, and brought worshipful reminders to … Read more

As we consider the unmatchable holiness of God (read part 1), I think there is practical application for worship in the local church. God’s Unmatchable Holiness – Part 1

It’s possible that I will be working on putting another book out in the next year or so. We will see how God’s providence orders things in the coming months (and you can pray about that if you are so inclined!). Regardless, I’d like to share with you a chapter from this book by breaking … Read more
