BOOK DESCRIPTION
In The Man Who Preached Outside, follow the great evangelist George Whitefield as he preaches the gospel in Great Britain, crosses the Atlantic in a tall ship to America, and then returns home to preach again.

Look out for a man blowing a trumpet, someone fishing, and lots more in this retelling of Whitefield’s story.

These simple stories, written with 1-3 year olds in mind, have beautiful, engaging illustrations that will have your children asking you to read them over and over!

Hear the author herself tell you why she wrote these books.

Review

I am really happy to finally post my review of this book and the rest of this series of books that I have purchased and read. Children love to be read to and need to be read to, and this series gives me something exciting to read to my children that I hope will have an impact on them for eternity.

The Man Who Preached Outside is a short depiction of the life of George Whitefield, the well-known itinerant preacher in the UK and USA. Your children will see George Whitefield heralding the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ to a crowd. A good idea will be to show the child the variety of responses Mr. Whitefield is getting from the crowd. Warning, they aren’t all positive! But this should give the opportunity to prepare your child for opposition should he or she come to saving faith.

As with the book about Mrs. Luther, the illustrations in this book capture the attention of children perfectly. I’m sure you know how hard it is to get kids to sit still for a story…even moreso—a Bible story comes with particular difficulty it seems. But this book allow you to show your child the importance of preaching Christ, suffering for Christ, and ministering on behalf of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I am also appreciative of something I noticed in all the books in this series that I own. Instead of calling the main character “George,” the author chooses to refer to him as “Mr. Whitefield.” Little things like this show that the author is truly trying to give parents a tool to raise children in the Lord who respect adults. Well done!

I wholeheartedly endorse this book along with the rest of the series.
