God Hears Your Prayers: STTA!

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

The first verse of the Bible as well as basic reasoning each point to God as the creator of the world. Nothing exists without Him. He is all-powerful. There is no being greater than He is. No being can be greater than He is. God is above Alexander the Great, Abraham Lincoln, Mark Zuckerberg, or even your favorite actor from the Avengers.

Acts 17:24-25
The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things;

And yet if you are one of God’s children you have certainty that He hears your prayers. He listens to you. He listens to your concerns and your exclamations of joy. It’s not that He just has the capacity to hear the projected vibrations you make with your mouth. No, it’s greater than that. He listens to your words. He pays attention to what you are saying in a way that is superior to what the best of friends does. He’s not a good listener but a perfect listener.

1 John 5:14-15
This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.

The holy God of the universe and the creator of all things pays attention to you when you speak! Frightening and amazing, is it not?

Psalm 34:15
The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
And His ears are open to their cry.

I do a bad job of taking advantage of access to God. I can speak to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords whenever I wish and I find myself talking to Him just a few minutes per day! God wants to help me become more like His Son. He wants me to increase in knowledge and wisdom. He wants to help me proclaim His word to lost souls when I’m nervous! God hears the prayers of Tim Bates. What an incredibly convicting and simultaneously encouraging truth to behold! Amen?
